As your project evolves, it is important to be able to update your database with the most up-to-date and accurate information. This video will show you how to run an upload via our Jobcost tool to update your budget's actuals or forecasted values, to ensure Riskcast and your system of record are in sync.
-
Go to the Jobcost module from your Riskcast home page.
-
Select the Jobcost tool
on left side of the page.
-
Select "Actual Cost" on the top of the page.
-
Select the correct project from the "Project" dropdown menu.
-
You can either view the budget and cost as of a certain date, or within a certain date range. In order to look at it within a date range, click the "Date Range" checkbox.
-
You can update hours and cost directly from the Jobcost grid.
-
Go to the far right portion of the grid under the "Forecast" section.
-
Click directly on the value that you want to change, and type in the correct value.
-
The new values will save as you enter them.
-
-
You can also upload the updated budget information from an external file. In order to do this, select the upload icon
on the right side of the screen.
-
Select the correct upload type.
-
You have the option to download an Excel template, which you can use to format your data prior to uploading it. The template has the required fields in the correct order.
-
NOTE: Make sure your cost code in Excel matches the cost code in Riskcast. Excel sometimes changes numbers to exclude leading or trailing zeros, which, if a part of your cost codes in Riskcast, could cause an error.
-
Select the project for which you are uploading the budget.
-
Enter any necessary comments. This step is not necessary, but can be helpful for tracking purposes.
-
Select the file you would like to upload.
-
Click "Upload."
-
A .txt file will pop up to tell you if there were any errors in the upload. If there were errors, this file will also tell you what went wrong.
-
-
Back in Riskcast, you can click details
for a specific cost code to see transactions that have happened until this point.
