This new feature enables you to create multiple time cards in a single day, under one foreman. Whether you need to run a layoff check for a separate individual, or you need to do corrections for a missed crew member or any other timekeeping details that were missed from your original timecard, you’ll now be able to generate various timecards in one day without having to re-open or edit an already submitted crew timecard.
In order to set up this feature, there’s a couple of configuration considerations that we need to take into account. Please follow the instruction below on how to set up your timecard types, as well as enabling it at the project level.
Set up Timecard Types
- Go to your organization console
- Click on lists, and select Timecard Types types under the dropdown menu for List Types
- In here you’ll find the default Type = Standard,
- You can rename the type - but the code ‘STDR’ is hardcoded into our system.
- From here, you can click to generate a new Type
- Define a code (code must be less that 6 characters)
- Enter a Name (required), and Description (optional)
- Select a color
- Click Save
How to configure? (at project level)
- From the jobcost Module > Projects
- Click to edit your projects, and go to the Options Tab
- Under timecard options, you will find: “Allow Timecard Indexes” - toggle this on.
- You can also choose to do this at the project template level, and any new jobs added associated with that template will have the configuration already set up.
Creating a new timecard, cloning, editing
From our timecard module, you have the ability to create a new timecard, choose the type, and/or edit the type at any point. You will also have the ability to clone any version of the timecards available to you, within the last two weeks. Please see the video below for examples of this functionality.
Please note: Once this option is enabled for any given project, you’ll see a new filter on your timecard calendar. This will allow you to filter your view to any particular type you set up.
