Riskcast offers the ability for a crew lead to clone an already created timecard. When cloning a previously created timecard, here are a few rules:
1. Hours, quantities, notes, signatures, allowances, start / end times, etc., are all wiped from the timecard.
2. The timecard shell which referse to the crew members (employees and equipment) and budget codes is what is cloned.
3. Additional rules exist related to the crew and cost codes.
Employee / Equipment Rules
- If an employee has been deactivated, the employee will not be carried onto the new timecard.
- If an equipment has been deactivated from the timecard project, it will not be carried onto the new timecard.
- If an employee had a payclass different than their default, it will be changed back to their default payclass on the new timecard.
Budget Code Rules
- If a budget code project is closed, the related budget code(s) will be removed from the new timecard.
- If a budget code is deactivated or completed it will be removed from the new timecard.
Let us look at an example. This timecard was created for Monday, January 6th, 2025.
After this timecard was created, "Remy Brooks" was terminated and the "Drywall" labor budget code was deactivated. On the 7th of January, I cloned this timecard by hitting the clone button in the top right hand order of the timecard for January 7th, 2025, and then selecting the timecard for January 6th, 2025.
At this point, the system checks all of the business rules we have put in place and will let the timecard creator know of any changes for awareness purposes. In this case, it has let us know that one employee has been remove, one budget code has been removed, and a payclass has been set back to default.
The user clicks Close to continue with timecard creation.
