Dispatching - Company Configuration
print icon

Dispatching can be enabled for each company within a tenant. To enable Dispatching, navigate to the Organization page and click into the Company icon. Once the list of companies is visible, select a company.

Within the company, select the Options tab. Then select Workforce (or People/Equipment).

Toggle the "Enable Dispatching" option to "ON".  A few more options should appear.

1. Default Dispatching Type: Currently, the only option is "Resource". A resource is an individual employee or a piece of equipment. In the future, dispatching by entire crews will be

possible with less clicks.

2. Notification Type*: By default, the selected option will be "Email Notification". To turn on text messaging, select the "Text Message" option. Note that both text messages AND emails can be sent, or one or the other. It is up to the company to decide. Email notifications require that a "Primary Email" be set up within the employee's Personal Information section (they are not required to be a User). Text Notifications require additional set up as described here (insert link).

3. Notification Schedule: This will be the default time for "scheduled" notifications to be e-mailed to employees. Note that within the system, immediate notifications are also able to be sent for same day dispatches.

4. Non Working Days: These days will show up as greyed out and will not have anyone dispatched to a project (by default), but operate as any other day according to dispatching in the sense that you can dispatch an employee or equipment to a project.

To define additional non working days (holidays), use the Holiday tab within the company.

*Riskcast offers default notification templates for Dispatching, but each company can further configure their own notification within the "Notifications" tab of the Company (once dispatching is enabled).

Emails and text messages can have different notifications. Keep in mind when configuring notifications that text messages should be significantly shorter than emails. Text highlighted in yellow is called a "Placeholder". This is information that will be populated from the record that generates the notification. To add one of those to the notification when configuring, click on the "Placeholder" option and select which field should be added to the notification.
