Punched Time - Configuration

In order to use Punched Time, the proper settings must be set at the Project level.

To do so, navigate into the "Projects" module and click the edit button beside the project on which this feature should be enabled. Then, click into the "Options" tab and navigate to the "Timecard" section. Here, find the option that says "Enable Employee Clock In"

If this feature is not already turned on, then toggle the feature from OFF to ON. Once that is completed, a couple of sub-options for this configuration will be available.

The "Type of Clock In" will default to "Manual Clock In". To use the "Punched Time" option instead (since employees are punching in/out using a different system), change this to "Punch Time". Once that is done, the next feature will be hidden.

Once "Punch Time" is selected, another option will appear called "Enforce Time Punched via Allocation". By default, this will be turned off, which means the time entry process is unchanged.

Click "Save" on this project. Now, when you go to a timecard with the above project as the timecard project, the "Punched Time" column will be visible but the time card entry requirements will not be changed.

If you toggle "Enforce Time Punched via Allocation" ON, then the crew lead will not be able to submit a timecard if the hours allocated across cost codes are greater than the hours showing as the employees' punched time for the day. Projects should not turn this on until they have the Punched Time working correctly as this change is not retroactive. Once turned on, it will apply for all time cards, not just time cards going forward.
