Within Riskcast, you have the ability to track multiple types of allowances directly from your timecard. In order to create an allowance, follow the steps below. Please note, you will need system administrator rights, or access to the organization>benefits section of your company.

Open the organization tab located on the top right corner of the screen.

From the organization tab, open the benefits section. Then open allowances. Here you can view or edit any past allowances.
- To add a new allowance, click the add button located at the top right corner.

Add the category, allowance code, allowance name, and description. There are two types of calculations available for per diem input. You can either enter a lump sum value, or a per hour amount.
- Per Hour: This will multiple the allowance amount by the timecard hours to get a total amount. You can specify which hours should be included in the calculation (e.g. Regular, Overtime, Other)
- Lump Sum: Use a single allowance amount as entered.

There are two other settings available as part of your allowance configuration:

Cost Code Prorata: Which allocates your allowance proportionally to each time card cost code by hour.

Taxable: it is a simply a toggle on/off to record if this allowance type is intended to be taxable.
These setting are optional, and can be left off as part of your allowance set up.
